Big Brothers and Big Sisters bring these moments to children in need and it is that magic that makes all the difference.

The difference is enormous. Rigorous research proves that Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's leader in one-to-one mentoring, reduces the risk of violence, truancy, and drug and alcohol use for our youth.

Our “Littles” show improved test scores and positive behaviors in school and at home compared with peers who are not matched with a “Big”. They help improve each class, each school, neighborhood, and community.

For over a century, our professional program staff have generated and nurtured lasting friendships through recruitment, screening, matching, training, and continual support of the Big and Little - who sometimes come from very different worlds.

We are dedicated to providing a Big to every child who needs and wants one.  Nationwide, we’ve nearly doubled the number of children served over the past five years. But our work is not done. We will not stop until every child in our community is served.
